Please be advised that today’s severe thunderstorms have caused downed trees, branches, and wires in areas of Meridian Township, inspiring power outages and road closures. 🚦 Power Outage and Road Closure Alert 🚦 To review updates regarding the MDOT Grand River Avenue/M-43 Enhancement Project, visit. The project will then be completed with the exception of some short, temporary traffic shifts to complete final restoration work. Grand River Avenue will fully reopen after the final layer of asphalt is paved and cooled.Īfter Grand River Avenue is reopened, final pavement markings will then be applied from just east of Marsh Road to the CN Railroad bridge. The final layer of asphalt is scheduled to be paved between August 13 and 16. Weather dependent, the first layer of asphalt is scheduled to be paved on Thursday, August 10. These inner three lanes will still be accessible for left turns except in areas where the contractor is actively paving. Weather dependent, the contractor will be working to temporarily reopen all lanes of Grand River Avenue beginning July 27 or July 28.īeginning Tuesday, August 1, or Wednesday, August 2, the contractor will close the inner three lanes of Grand River Avenue, from just east of Okemos Road to Park Lake Road, to begin milling the inner lanes and the center left turn lane. The milling and paving of the outer lanes of Grand River Avenue, from just west of Okemos Road to the CN Railroad bridge just east of Park Lake Road, has been completed.
